1. Publishing a Notice of Incorporation in Two Newspapers
Pursuant to Pennsylvania law, a statement regarding the filing of Articles of Incorporation (or a Certificate of Organization) must be published in two newspapers of general circulation, one of which should be a legal newspaper in the county where the initial registered office of the corporation (If possible; not all counties have legal newspapers.).
Each newspaper will charge for publishing the notice. You are not required to file proof of publication with the state.
You can also call the county clerk in which your business is located and ask for the name of a legal newspaper in the county and/or other newspapers in which you can file legal notices.
2. Filing Form PA-100 – Pennsylvania Business Tax Registration
3. Annual / Decennial Reports
Each corporation must file a report with the state once every 10 years. A copy of the report will be mailed to you. A corporation that does not submit its decennial report on time gives up exclusive use of its name.
Surely, the list above is not everything you will need to do once you incorporate a business in Pennsylvania. You should always check with your accountant or attorney in order to make sure you are compliant with all state laws.
