B.  S Corporation Filings for Your New District of Columbia Corporation 

1.   Federal S-Corporation Election Form

NOTE: You have 75 days from the date you incorporate a business in the District of Columbia to file your form 2553 with the IRS. If you fail to file in that time period, you will not be granted s-corporation status for the year in which you incorporate.

Choose the “Business” Box. You will see the Corporate Franchise Tax Form (D-20)
 
2.    Annual Reports
 
All entities formed in D.C. must file an annual report. Contact the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs office at 202-442-4430 or log on to
http://mblr.dc.gov/corp/forms/reports.shtm to get the Annual Report form.
