Have your Federal Tax ID Number (EIN) on hand; most states require it on their state tax ID number forms and other forms that you may need to complete after you incorporate a business in Florida.

Before you are granted a license from any government agency or a business is opened in Florida, you must first determine whether your business activity, product use, or product consumption will be subjected to Florida sales tax. That is why you must complete the DR-1 form; if you haven’t downloaded it already, it can be done by going to www.myflorida.com/dor/forms/download/!sales.html

For all other tax information regarding your business, visit the Florida Department of Revenue’s website at http://sun6.dms.state.fl.us/dor/taxes. This includes unemployment taxes. To see if your business is required to file an Employer’s Quarterly Report (Form UCT-6) which details your business’s employment activity, go to the Department of Revenue’s website and click on “How to Register.”

All Florida corporations and LLCs are required to file an annual report each calendar year with the Secretary of State on or before May 1st starting in the year following the year of incorporation. The current fee is $150 for corporations and $50 for llcs. For more information, contact the Florida Department of State at 850-487-6052 or visit http://www.sunbiz.org/
